“The African Football League anthem was composed by Henoel Grech, who created the music and lyrics, while the orchestration and arrangement were taken care of by Stefano Proietti.
Conceived from the beginning with the aim of creating a motif that could blend symphonic music with the percussive and melodic art of African tradition, this became possible thanks to the presence of solemn themes and electronic music, inserted into an orchestral and rhythmic context rooted in the twentieth century and contemporaneity.
The energy of the choir, the melodic-harmonic strength, and the dancing rhythm have the ambition to overcome any kind of label, hoping to thrill and transport the listener through a language understandable to all, also seeking to provide the right enthusiasm to the players participating in the competition.
The anthem, titled “African Football League Anthem,” takes the listener on an emotional journey through the challenges and victories that characterize the spirit of the competition participants, even through an engaging melody and powerful lyrics.
“The ‘AFL’ sports competition represents one of the most important moments in African sports, and it was a great honor for me to have the opportunity to create the official anthem,” said Henoel Grech. “I tried to capture the energy and passion that surround this event in every note and word. I hope the anthem can become a symbol of strength and determination for all those who participate in and follow this competition.”
